In her free time, Sarah is an active member of the WSU Horticulture club, which she has been involved with since fall 2010. She is excited to take the next step in her academic career, and is grateful for the excellent preparation she has received via her undergraduate coursework, research opportunities in the Lewis lab, and mentorship from faculty, many from within CAHNRS. Throughout her time at WSU, Sarah has conducted undergraduate research and has found this experience very rewarding. She will graduate with her Bachelor’s degree in May 2014, after which she plans to pursue a Ph.D. Sarah Brewer is a senior from Olympia, Washington studying Agricultural Biotechnology and Biochemistry. Park Animal Farm in Everett, WA and local 4-H programs. Graduation, Corrine intends to pursue a career regarding science communication and education.Īdditionally, she hopes to work with youth in agriculture in her community through programs like Forest Journal and a review of the effects of clenbuterol on horses in Comparative Exercise Physiology. She has published two papers in scholastic journals: a teaching/advising paper in the NACTA Interested in science communication andĮducation, she uses her roles as a mentor and a writer to inform other students about scientific topics inĪgriculture. She is a student representative on the Animal Sciences TeachingĬommittee and an active member of Cougar Cattle Feeders. She is also National Director for the International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences. Victoria is a CAHNRS Ambassador and the founder of the International Development Club on campus. She currently works as an Apartment Coordinator, a student employee in the alternative cropping lab for the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences, and is also an intern for International Research adn Agricultural Development. From this interest she has gone to Rwanda in 2011 wit the National FFA Organization and again with an internship through CAHNRS in the summer of 2012. Victoria is interested in a career in international development. Victoria Barth will receive her degree in Integrated Plant Sciences Field Crop Management along with a minor in Communication and Crop Science. The purpose of this award is to recognize the student who demonstrates a balance between academic achievements, leadership, and extra curricular activities. The Aggie of the Year Award recognizes the outstanding student from agricultural and natural resource science programs in the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences.
